Wasps are pests
Wasps are introduced insects in
New Zealand. They came from the European countries. When the aircraft was going to come to New Zealand the wasps snuck in the parts of the aircraft. When they landed the wasps came out of their hiding spots and went into our forests. After sometime they multiplied into a great number of wasps. Now wasps are a great problem in New Zealand.
We can find about 20,000 wasps per hectare of land. They rob honey from bees and eat bee larvae. They eat beetles and butterflies. Some butterflies have totally disappeared because of the wasps. Wasps are known to attack bird nest and eat their chicks. They have no enemies because they are on top of the food chain.
We need to find a way to protect our environment from wasps.

From Room 6 kitchen
Today Room 6 started their classroom kitchen. We made milo today. Now we know exactly how many spoons of milo go into one cup. We also learnt how to write instructions to make milo. It’s all about life skills. Watch out for our next recipe.
How to prepare a cup of Milo
Ingredients
Three tea spoons of Milo
One tea spoon of sugar if you are keen
Half a cup of milk
Some hot water
A cup and a tea spoon
Method
Get a clean cup.
Put three teaspoons of Milo into the cup.
Add two teaspoons of sugar into the cup.
Then fill half of the cup with warm water.
Stir well till Milo and sugar dissolve.
Fill the rest of the cup with fresh milk.
Sir it gently and enjoy.
Milo can be a great great start on a cold morning

Writing at Home
Students in Room 6 practice writing a story everyday at home. We believe that the more we practice, the more we will learn. Eve wrote such a long recount about her day after school. We were all amazed!
