Today we learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi. Here are some of the facts about the treaty.

Potato Fritters

Today we made potato fritters in class. This is how we described them - yum, crunchy, delicious, soft, most appetising, crispy, salty, crusty and full of flavours of herbs.

My best Day Ever - By Jarrod

On one bright sunny day just one day before my birthday it was september the 15th. I asked her “Where are we going ?” “Just wait until we get there”.We cleaned the whole house. We went on 11 o'clock so  we could be with the best players in our rugby team. It was only me ,Coop,Maddie,Rawiri and Clation.The other players couldn’t come because they didn’t work hard like us. We put in all our sweat and blood and won the game.

Rawiri got the player of the year I got the best defender I forgot what my friends got a trophy for.We went to rainbow ends I was so excited actually, I was over excited I was so pumped up. I was looking for Rawiri because but he had gone early. I only went on a few to rides. Then it started to rain we quickly went on one more.We got into the car to go home we had a little rest. Then I asked if I could go to my friend to play for a while. Thats where the day had finished. I think it was the best day ever till now

Vegetable soup on a cold autumn afternoon

Today we made vegetable soup to introduce ourselves to the inquiry topic for this term - 'Fuelled for life - Food, Fitness, Feel good'  . All students got some vegetables from home and we put them together to make a soup. We learnt how to chop, dice and peel the vegetables. It was fun. We enjoyed the soup on this cold morning. It was very yum, healthy and delicious.

Room 6's Artwork from recycled rubbish

As an end product for our topic study this term, we made a piece of art from recycled rubbish.
It is made out of plastic bottles and file covers. We cut the bottles and the file covers into organic shapes and then put them into the oven to give them different forms. We used nail paints, acrylics and glitter to give colour to our recycled plastic forms. We were very pleased with our end product which we proudly named 'Under the Ocean and Over the Horizon'

Yummy Milk shakes and instructional writing

This week we made yummy milk shakes because we were learning to do instructional writing.
We made banana berry and feijoa milk shake. It tasted really yummy. Then we made did our instructional writing on how to make a milk shake.

So motivated to learn times tables

This dart game was so inspiring that everyone learnt their time tables with out any complains.

Shape Collages

We were learning about patterns this week. As we explored patterns in nature, we came across a picture of a honeycomb. It had lots of hexagons on it and this made us look at geometrical shapes. So we learnt about 2D and 3D shapes and then made a collage on shapes.
